You probably think this is an oxymoron! Having no or less waste with a houseful of diapers, clothes, wipes and toys may seem impossible, but there are some practical alternatives to raising a “zero-waste baby.”

Here are just a couple of ideas from Katherine Martinko, mother of three:

  • Cloth diapers
  • Washcloths not wipes
  • Fewer skin-care products
  • Used/re-purposed clothing
  • Home-made baby food
  • Fewer toys
  • Minimal fancy gadgets and toys
