  • Autumn can be bitter sweet as we move into the harvest season bounty and start putting our gardens to bed for the season. For those of who love to grow, and love fresh food, we try to get our fill of both as the growing season winds down for another year. . . but it doesn’t have to!

Come learn about cold frames: a great way to extend your growing options during the shoulder seasons or even continue growing fresh greens year round. Cold frames can give your garden a head start in the spring, let you keep on growing through the fall, and even allow you to grow fresh food year round. Which greatly expand your access to fresh food and opportunities to play in the dirt.

This 90 minute class will touch on the basics of what cold frames are, how they work, and how to use them to extend your growing and harvest seasons. We’ll discuss a few different cold frame designs to help give you a better idea of what options may work best for you.

Children under 12 must be attended by an adult.

Please bring note taking supplies and appropriate clothing to walk comfortably outside on the 21 Acres Farm.
