Coming Winter 2012--Sustainability in the Classroom: A Framework for Learning about Food Systems
This four-class session is designed for educators who are interested in adapting their instruction to sustainability principles and in learning how food and the systems that bring food to our tables fit within the broader K-12 picture. The instructors for the course will help you discover how systems thinking, environmental understanding, economic awareness, and community involvement can be used as teaching tools. You will also learn about environmental and sustainability education mandates in Washington State and examine these standards in the context of relevant and experiential activities.
