21 Acres Sustainable Saturday Series

The Sustainable Saturday Series at 21 Acres presents an opportunity to the community to learn and participate in a variety of activities showcasing and demonstrating sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. Beginning at 10 a.m., this free series of Sustainable Saturdays, will be held the first Saturday of every month through November.

Farm and garden demonstrations and volunteer work projects are planned, along with an official Farm Tour at 11 a.m. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the holiday at our Farm. The 21 Acres Farm Stand will be open selling fresh picked items grown by the students participating in the Small Acreage Food Production Program.

Volunteer tasks could include brush clearing, trail maintenance, light building maintenance and general garden tasks. Participate in a farm task, walk the trails, chat with a Community Gardener or just meander through the wildlife corridor. Find out what’s growing in your community, when you visit 21 Acres.

Educational programs and classes will be added to the Sustainable Saturday Series occasionally. Visit 21acres.org for continuous updates.

Farm Tours and the Sustainable Saturday series are free and open to the public. Remaining 2009 dates are:
Saturday, August 1
Saturday, September 5
Saturday, October 3
Saturday, November 7
