  • Farm to Table Cooking Camp for Teens ages 12 – 17

Fire up the stove, sharpen those knives, and roll up your sleeves for this hands-on advanced cooking intensive perfect for creative teen chefs.

In this week-long, half-day camp taught by Seattle Cucina at the 21 Acres kitchen and farm, campers will:

Make hands-on recipes like fresh pasta, pastries, and stuffed veggies using ingredients fresh from the farm.

Explore the chemistry of taste and flavor combinations by experimenting with sauces and seasonings.

Braise, bake, sauté, roast! Learn skills for these essential cooking concepts.

Get your hands dirty in the nutrient-rich farm soil by planting vegetables to be used by the next crop of farm chefs.

Harvest herbs from the farm, learn about where fresh food comes from, and select the perfect ingredients for your recipes.

Challenge other chef teams in the kitchen with creative competitions and projects.

Put your newfound knowledge to the test by working with a small team of campers to invent and cook up a unique dish.

Enter the knife skills lab to learn how to chop, dice, and slice like a pro.

Create your own restaurant experience and show off your cooking skills with a recipe showcase for families on the last day of camp.

By the end of this week-long camp, students will have created new dishes and explored flavors and produce like never before! All ingredients are locally sourced from nearby farms who use sustainable practices.

Campers will cook 2-3 dishes each day! When registering, please make note of any dietary requests; we may be able to accommodate, though can’t always guarantee that we can meet certain dietary restrictions. Vegetarian options are available. Please be aware that we will be cooking in a kitchen that processes dairy, eggs, and nuts.

Cooking is hungry work. Even though we’re making food each day, campers should still bring hearty snacks.

This camp works alone or as a complement to our Seed to Fork Farm Camp which gets young chefs more hands-on experience working outside and learning about the local food system!
