Calling all young chefs! Ever wanted to master knife skills? Gather your own ingredients? Whip up unique recipes with your friends?

In this week-long, half-day camp taught by Seattle Cucina at the 21 Acres kitchen and farm, campers will:

Make hands-on recipes like dumplings, creative salads, and desserts using ingredients fresh from the farm.

Get your hands dirty in the nutrient-rich farm soil by planting vegetables to be used by the next crop of farm chefs.

Harvest veggies and herbs from the farm, learn about where fresh food comes from, and select the perfect ingredients for your recipes.

Play games and get creative with food-art projects.

Learn the basics of baking in the 21 Acres commercial kitchen.

Enter the knife skills lab to learn how to chop, dice, and slice like a pro.

Create your own restaurant experience and show off your cooking skills with a recipe showcase for families on the last day of camp.

By the end of this week-long camp, students will have the practical skills necessary to begin cooking at home, and the knowledge to eat food that’s delicious, nutritional, and sustainable all at once! All ingredients are locally sourced from nearby farms who use sustainable practices.

Campers will cook 2-3 dishes each day! When registering, please make note of any dietary requests; we may be able to accommodate, though can’t always guarantee that we can meet certain dietary restrictions. Vegetarian options are available. Please be aware that we will be cooking in a kitchen that processes dairy, eggs, and nuts.

Cooking is hungry work. Even though we’re making food each day, campers should still bring hearty snacks.

This camp works alone or as a complement to our Seed to Fork Farm Camp which gets young chefs more hands-on experience working outside with the local food system!

Join us for the best summer ever! 21 Acres farm and cooking camps attract future farmers, curious ecologists, budding chefs, and kid trailblazers who love getting messy, discovering new things, and learning about our local food system. Farm camps are full-day outdoor adventures that include hands-on soil exploration, special guests, and everyone’s favorite outdoor pizza party. Our half-day cooking camps taught by Seattle Cucina teach young chefs practical kitchen skills and cooking with local and sustainable ingredients—the ultimate culinary experience! All campers make friends, explore food systems, and leave inspired as the next generation of climate stewards.

Registration is required in advance for all programs. All proceeds benefit educational programming at 21 Acres and initiatives related to accelerating social change toward more sustainable ways of growing, eating, and living that protect the environment while supporting a better quality of life.

21 Acres cancellation and refund policy.
