Hello all – Racism demands our full and immediate attention. Black people must be able to live without fear. Racism leads not only to violence but exacerbates pervasive problems related to inadequate health care, access to education, job opportunities, disproportionate incarceration, neighborhoods of choice, fresh food and more. We must acknowledge, challenge and reform entrenched systemic privileges and biases in all these areas.

At 21 Acres we vow to advance our work for climate, food, racial, and social justice. We practice land stewardship through the lens of agroecology and will prioritize and contribute to anti-discrimination solutions within our food system. We will push ourselves to grow as individuals and look for new ways to come together with our community to support people of color and to address inequities. We will share with you when we stumble and make strides toward progress. When you see an action we can take, let us know.

We are sending love and compassion during these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Robin Crowder & Liesl McWhorter
Co-Directors, 21 Acres
