21 Acres Dry-Farming Demo & Farm Tour: Welcome Back
21 Acres Dry-Farming Demo & Farm Tour: Welcome Back
- date: September 24, 2021
- time: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Have you missed us? After almost two years of closing campus in response to coronavirus, 21 Acres is hosting its first in-person farm tour! Join us as we celebrate the Sammamish Valey Alliance Fall Harvest for a walk on the property with our farmers, Anthony Reyes and Ansley Roberts, and learn about all the experiments and trials we’ve been working on over the last two years. We’ll talk about:
- Dry farm agricultural production (and taste our tomatoes!)
- Farm trials and experiments happening in our living laboratory
- Regenerative agricultural practices
- Intensive cover cropping with local partners
- What pastured pork means to dynamic farm rotations
- Integration of native landscapes and restoration toward climate and agricultural resilience
Come prepared with questions and an eagerness to learn all about our certified Organic farm, where we take an agroecological approach to climate challenges.
This tour is ideal for farmers, chefs, ecology professionals, business partners, volunteers, and other members of our community who want to learn more about regenerative practices.
This interactive hour and a half will be held in person on the 21 Acres campus. Join us in the lobby on the second floor ahead of the tour. Our farm paths lead through mulched and unpaved roads, and are not ADA accessible. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
Due to coronavirus concerns, space is limited; be sure to sign up via Eventbrite. Masks and Social distancing are encouraged throughout this experience. Masks are required inside our LEED building and Farm Market.
