CHEF at the FARM
CHEF at the FARM
- date: September 15, 2016
- time: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
This is more than just a typical chef dinner. This is a meal that supports local farmers and local farming. It illustrates that every little thing we do impacts the local, and ultimately, the global environment. A meal like this requires that the chef be intentional with every ingredient choice. Chefs engage in this challenge – to craft delicious food that must be seasonal, local, and organic. They do this because they know the time is now to connect farming and sustainability to our eating experience. 21 Acres hosts these guest chefs throughout the year.
They come from the Puget Sound Area – specifically Seattle and the Eastside, to create delicious meals at the height of each season. Courses are often paired with local Salmon-Safe wines and craft beers.
Chef on the Farm events offer good company, good food, and an opportunity to experience the purest form of local seasonal cooking. Lively discussions about sustainable farming, smart use of water resources, the important role of bees and other vital pollinators, and the impacts of industrial agriculture on climate change often ensue – but it’s all really about connection.
We invite you to connect with farming issues, friends and neighbors, and the food we all enjoy.
