Get the new school year off to an energetic start with simple whole food snacks and lunches. Join instructor Kristen Feurstein in this hands-on culinary bonding experience between a parent or care giver and their child (age 8-13). Learn how to make simple, satisfying, and delicious lunches and snacks that nourish growing minds. Using locally grown whole grains, legumes, and plenty of produce, we will create a simple mix of recipes that are easy to prepare and guaranteed to increase energy and mental focus. Bonus, these tasty ideas work great for adults too!
Kristen Feuerstein: Kristen Vegan Living
As our resident vegetarian culinary expert, Kristen has been creating and cooking up family friendly recipes for nearly 25 years. Having experienced the benefits of living on whole foods, Kristen has a deep seeded passion for eating health and healing foods. She holds certificates from the Living Light Culinary Institute and the Culinary Nutrition program. When not in the kitchen, Kristen can be found sharing the joys of nature with children, hiking with friends or working in classrooms throughout the Puget Sound region giving presentations on the “Ethics of Eating” for the nonprofit group Ethical Choices Programs.
Registration is required in advance for culinary programs. All proceeds benefit educational programming at 21 Acres and initiatives related to accelerating social change toward more sustainable ways of growing, eating and living that protect the environment while supporting a better quality of life.
