Are you up for the ultimate adventure in eating local? Local farmer, permaculture expert and culinary instructor, Alexia Allen, is eating only hand-harvested food in 2017 – no shopping required! Join her in this hands-on culinary experience to prepare a simple hand-harvested meal, perfect for the season and full of wonderful bright flavors: hearty nettle soup, luscious farm egg frittata, sautéed nettles and golden onions, and fresh baked cornbread with cream. We will start the class foraging on our farm, identifying edible plants as we go, and sampling the wild greens of spring. Bring gloves for harvesting nettles and wear clothes for exploring the farm.
