Class: Handmade Mozzarella, Ricotta & Juicy Tomatoes from the Farm!
- date: September 28, 2017
- time: 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join cheesemaker and former dairy farmer Meghan McKenna for a delicious evening of cheese making. Together we will learn the simple joy of making fresh mozzarella in the home kitchen. Our evening will start with a brief walk on the 21 Acres Farm to gather ingredients for a simple dinner salad. Then, returning to the kitchen, we will use rich, local Jersey cow milk and classic Italian technique to create pillowy mozzarella and light-as-air whey ricotta. If we are feeling confident, we will attempt to make the deliciously tricky burrata cheese with fresh cream! To complement our warm and milky cheese, we will make recipes with mozzarella’s natural partner, tomato! You will take home a pound of cheese, recipes, and we will have a delightful light dinner of farm fresh salad, fresh baked bread, and homemade hummus. With dairy, wheat optional.
