Farm to Vase Centerpiece Class – by Blue Glass Farm
- date: July 29, 2023
- time: 11:00 am - 1:30 pm
Our neighbors at Blue Glass Farm have organized a special opportunity for you to tour their farm, learn to harvest lovely in-season blooms, and gather with fellow flower lovers to create your own beautiful farm fresh centerpiece.
Led by Blue Glass Farm owner Alexandra Swidergal, the workshop will highlight local, seasonal, and sustainable flower varieties available here in the PNW and will give participants the chance to ask both design and growing questions.
This two-part workshop will begin with a walk across the 21 Acres campus to Blue Glass Farm, which is a half acre, no-till, market garden-style farm located just south of us. A guided tour will include a harvesting demo and instructions. Each participant will be invited to grab some shears and collect additional flowers for their centerpiece designs.
After returning to 21 Acres, part two of the workshop will kick off with refreshments and a centerpiece demonstration by Alex. Following the demo, each participant will have time to create their own unique and beautiful arrangement to take home. All tools and supplies will be provided.
This class starts and ends at 21 Acres. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable footwear that you don’t mind getting dirty, and be prepared for a stroll across lumpy farmland (not ADA accessible).
Registration for this workshop is directly through Blue Glass Farm and is limited to 20 participants. Click the button below to sign up!
Blue Glass Farm is the July Featured Farm in the 21 Acres Farm Market, where you can find their harvest for sale throughout the season.
