- date: February 4, 2017
- time: 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
It Starts with a Seed — Join us in the Farm Market on Saturday, February, from 10-4, for a celebration of seeds. Andrew Ely will be helping kids and kids-at-heart make seed paper that can be planted come spring. Pop-up treats will be available including a seed inspired recipe from our Culinary Education team, and our own Asako Sullivan will continue to delight us with made-to-order crepes filled with a rotation of seasonal delights.
And for those eager to get a jump-start on their starts for the garden, look for the new display from Deep Harvest Farm on Whidbey Island. Annie Jesperson and Nathaniel Talbot propagate over 40 varieties of WSDA Certified Organic seeds which are 100% open-pollinated, non-GMO and chosen based on their ability to thrive in the climate and soils of the Pacific Northwest. As always, members receive 10% off their purchase on 1st Saturdays.
Join us every month for First Saturday in the Farm Market from noon to 1:30 p.m. This lively open house features ideas for seasonal growing, eating, and living more sustainably. Discover cooking tips and recipes, and enjoy free tasting samples. Meet local farmers and food processors. Learn new skills from the staff here at 21 Acres, and special guests. Members always receive 10% off in the Farm Market on the first Saturday of each month.
Want to learn more about the 21 Acres Farm, or the LEED Platinum-Certified building? Just arrive by 11:00 a.m. for a tour that wraps up just in time to enjoy the special guests and demonstrations in the Farm Market. Green Building tours are held every first and third Saturday of the month, Farm tours are held the second and fourth Saturdays, April through October.
