“Food Planet Future” with Robert Dash
- date: October 12, 2024
- time: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join us for a beautiful visual tour of everyday foods! Photographer, writer, and Orcas Island resident Robert Dash will speak about and share images from his newly published book, Food Planet Future: The Art of Turning Food and Climate Perils Into Possibilities, which draws upon art, research, and innovative practices to reimagine the tangled crises of food security, climate change, and biodiversity loss. Food Planet Future invokes awe and wonder and inspires action taken on our Earth’s behalf.
A career science educator and self-taught photographer, Dash searches out small subjects with large stories about climate, conservation, and biodiversity. His work has been published by TIME, Buzzfeed, and National Geographic.
This free event takes place in the downstairs meeting room adjacent to the 21 Acres Farm Market patio. Books will be available for purchase and autographs. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
This presentation is sponsored by the Sammamish Valley Grange, in conjunction with this year’s Sammamish Valley Harvest Celebration at 21 Acres on Saturday, October 12th, from 10:00 to 3:00.
