Fungi Perfecti Workshop at 21 Acres: Gardening with Mushrooms
- date: May 5, 2018
- time: 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Join Fungi Perfecti for a fun and informative workshop on growing mushrooms at home. You’ll learn everything you need to know about growing the King Stropharia mushroom (Stropharia rugoso-annulata, also known as the Garden Giant™), a prolific producer of large, choice edible mushrooms. With the King Stropharia Mushroom Patch™ and a few household items you will create a beautiful experiential model that allows you to see how wood-decaying fungi interact with the soil. You’ll also learn how to transplant the mushroom mycelium into your garden so you can grow your own tasty mushrooms. Enjoy a rare glimpse into the unseen underground world of fungi!
Attendees will need to bring an empty, 2-liter bottle (or similar container) to the workshop. All other supplies will be provided.
