Organic Seed Production Workshop
Organic Seed Production Workshop
- date: September 27, 2024
- time: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
21 Acres is excited to host the Organic Seed Alliance’s Organic Seed Production Workshop on September 27th, with a special focus on seed cleaning. This free workshop will cover the basics of organic seed production, with an emphasis on seed cleaning techniques.
If you have seeds that are ready for cleaning, please bring them along so we can incorporate them into our demonstrations. We hope to have a “Winnow Wizard” on site!
To enhance your experience, you are encouraged to watch this video by OSA colleague Jared Zystro before the workshop, and bring any questions you may have.
The Organic Seed Alliance puts the power of seed into the hands of growers through education, research and advocacy. Their work promotes an abundant and diverse supply of organic seed, tended in perpetuity by skilled, diverse, and interconnected communities of seed stewards.
This workshop is supported by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). TOPP is a program of the USDA Organic Transition Initiative and is administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP).
Registration is through the Organic Seed Alliance.
