Volunteering for Pollinators to Celebrate Earth Month
- date: April 24, 2021
- time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Celebrate Earth Month and volunteer to support pollinators! The 21 Acres farm is highly reliant upon pollinator services and the support that bees, butterflies and other creatures provide to help our regenerative farm be productive.
Get your hands dirty and help with a small volunteer contingent to tackle four easy projects in two hours time:
Project 1- Help build and plant a hugel mound to attract pollinators
Project 2-Plant a new pollinator hedgerow to buffer a production field
Project 3- Weed and plant in a newly installed pollinator garden that will eventually serve as an outdoor classroom
Project 4- Weed an existing hedgerow that is home to honey bees that forage on a number of nearby farms
IMPORTANT: We’ll be following Covid-19 safety protocols carefully, making sure people have adequate social distance from each other. Masks are mandatory and other strict safety measures will be taken. 21 Acres follows the Governor’s recommendations and King County Health Department’s best practices for safety related to coronavirus.
Spaces are limited. Please be sure to register ahead of time!
