  • Are you planning a career in the “green job” industry or thinking about switching your career to something in the environmental field? Learn what’s important to employers when they’re hiring new staff and find out if you’re on the right track academically and professionally to get yourself there. Tuesdays @ 21 is a free monthly presentation series for the broader community.

This is a facilitated learning experience on topics that can range from our regional climate, local wildlife, energy independence, the intersection of food and climate change, nutrition tips and tricks, and also includes topics that community members suggest and lead. Wine and cheese are often in the mix as well.

Jill Rand is UW-Bothell’s Internship Coordinator, where she is working with students, faculty and employers to increase the internship opportunities available to students and deepen the impacts internships have on students’ learning and career objectives. She comes to UWB from the Seattle campus where she was the College of the Environment’s Graduate Student Services & Diversity Specialist since 2012. Prior to joining UW, she developed and managed a graduate fellowship program at Environmental Defense Fund that worked to build the business case for energy efficiency in the public sector with a particular focus on the region’s minority-serving institutions. Jill has a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University

Hosted every fourth Tuesday of the month. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for networking, followed by a 30-minute presentation at 7:00 p.m.

Join your community for a unique opportunity to learn and share in the interdisciplinary fields of sustainability.
