  • The Sammamish Valley Alliance and 21 Acres are hosting the Sixth Annual Seed Swap Saturday, March 5, through Saturday, March 19, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Come to the alcove outside the 21 Acres Farm Market between 10 and 4 each day of the swap to take seeds or leave seeds at this self-serve seed swap.

If you don’t have any seeds yet, that’s okay! There will be plenty to share.

    Bring Your Seeds to Share

Bring your saved seeds either in their original commercial packaging or your own well-marked container (no taller than 4-7/8”). Include the plant name, year collected, and planting and growing information. Seeds should be cleaned of hulls and debris, non-GMO, non-hybrid, and not older than 3 years. Sort your donated seeds into the labeled boxes by plant category and species.

    Get Ready to Swap

Seeds are often donated in full envelopes or otherwise large quantities. Plan to take only the portion that you intend to plant and bring your own containers. These can be envelopes that you recycle, little jars or pill bottles, or baggies. Bring a pen or marker and paper or tape to label your seeds with name and any planting and growing information on the original container.

    Plant Your Spring Garden

Have fun with your family, friends, and neighbors as you plan and sow your spring garden. Come back often over the two-week period to see what’s new in the offerings. Remember to take pictures and share your garden stories with us!
