We are fogged in!  While fog has been incessantly stubborn here in lowlands, clear skies, sunshine and warm ve been hiking above the fog over the last few weekends so that I can enjoy blue skies and the sun.  I wish I could take all the crops with me so that they can soak up the sunshine, too. 

Well, here we are in the foggy fall. s s and not freezing. In fact, we have not seen any frost on the farm yet, which is unusual here in the valley for this time of the year because it usually gets down to freezing by early to mid October, but so far that scenario has not been the case.

Although the farm season is slowly phasing out, we still have plenty more they are all fantastic.  We have a new variety of winter squash called sweet.  Leeks ll have leeks well into winter months and for early spring pick pumpkin ll do it again next year.

Besides the abundance of the fall harvest, the farm had a number of farm tours from elementary schools, high schools and colleges.  A group of SAS students planting,
weeding and harvesting. Good job!

s field cleanup, cover crop, tool/equipment maintenance, seed/materials inventory and order, winterization of perennial plants and lots of data input and analysis of the farm season.

This fall we also received Organic Certification for the remaining two fields early in October.  Our tractor finally returned to work after a taking five months to repair. The farm season still keeps going as fall colors turn, and hopefully we can get more sunshine before winter arrives.
